From Thought to Keyboard: My Evolving Relationship with AI

From Thought to Keyboard: My Evolving Relationship with AI

It has been about three years since I first opened the door into the world of artificial intelligence. At that time, AI already felt like an emerging tool—but today it has become woven into almost every platform we use. Whether for writing, design, teaching, or productivity, AI increasingly feels like a gentle genie at your side whispering, “Your wish is my command.”

As this technology has evolved, so have I.

And what a journey it has been.

Discovering a New Creative Partner

Before I began using AI, creating a lesson, writing a blog, or building a presentation often took days—sometimes months. The process was meaningful but time-consuming, filled with editing, revising, restructuring, and organizing material for my students.

Today, things feel lighter.

I now jot down my thoughts, combine them with my aromatherapy knowledge and references, and AI helps me shape them into a cohesive piece of work that I can refine with care.
My thoughts travel through my fingertips onto the keyboard, and AI weaves them into form. Tada…

This partnership has not replaced my creativity—it has expanded it. As a teacher, it feels like being in heaven.

The Overwhelm: A Real Part of the Learning Curve

But let’s be honest: entering the world of AI can be overwhelming.

In holistic health and energy work, we often talk about how much the vessel can hold—how we process, ground, and integrate information so we can deliver it with clarity. The same principle applies to working with AI.

Our minds are full of ideas, inspirations, and fleeting thoughts. When you use AI regularly, those thoughts quickly turn into drafts, outlines, or full presentations. It’s exciting, but it can also feel like too much, too fast.

And because I love to explore, I tried multiple platforms, tools, and integrations. Soon enough, I found myself entangled in so many systems that I felt completely dumbfounded and overwhelmed.

This experience taught me a valuable lesson.

Master One Tool Before Adding More

AI is not something to accumulate; it is something to learn with intention.

Choose one platform that resonates with you and master it:

  • Learn its features.

  • Understand its strengths.

  • Test its limits.

  • Follow its updates.

AI is still a young and rapidly growing field. Companies are innovating at a breathtaking pace, and the tools are constantly evolving. Staying aware of these changes keeps you empowered rather than confused.

Just like blending essential oils, you get the best results when you truly understand the nature of the ingredients—or in this case, the capabilities of the tool.

Practical Tips for Anyone Beginning Their AI Journey

Here are a few supportive steps I wish someone had given me when I started:

  1. Start with one platform and allow yourself time to develop confidence.

  2. Keep a notes journal of your favourite prompts, ideas, and discoveries.

  3. Create small projects first—a paragraph, a list, a caption, a simple lesson.

  4. Review everything carefully. AI can speed up the process, but your voice and your expertise are what make the work meaningful.

  5. Stay curious. Let AI assist you, not overwhelm you.

A Personal Reflection (with a Smile)

Looking back, I can’t help but smile. These past three years have challenged me, inspired me, and expanded my creativity in ways I never expected. AI did not take away my voice; it helped me amplify it. It didn’t shortcut my knowledge; it allowed me to express it more clearly and beautifully.

Most importantly, it reminded me that learning—whether in aromatherapy or AI—is a lifelong, joyful journey.

So here I am, still exploring, still smiling, still typing… and allowing AI to weave my thoughts into something I can share with you.
