Professional Aromatherapist use to help Ease Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Emotional Upset!

Aromatherapy can be a valuable tool to use to help individuals to cope with stress, anxiety and emotional upsets!  In a survey conducted by Danielle Sade Healing Fragrances Aromatherapy School in January 2020 targeting professional aromatherapists through social media.  The objective of the survey was to investigate if Aromatherapy Via is Inhalation a supportive method in helping individuals coping with stress, anxiety, depression and emotional upset.
Questions
  1. What is the main method application you use when recommending essential oils for a client experiencing either stress, anxiety, depression or emotional upset?
  2. On a scale 1-4. 1- indicates no improvement, 4-indicates excellent improvements. Describe the improvement when supporting your client with safe use inhalation of essential oils to cope with either anxiety, stress, depression and emotional upset. 
Results:  Six hundred and thirty seven participated in the survey.  Four hundred and twenty (420) professional aromatherapists, used Aromatherapy Via Inhalation as the main method of treatment to support clients who are coping with stress, anxiety, depression and emotional upset. The feedback received from the above questions was; that over three-hundred and seventy-four (374) professional aromatherapists had good-to-excellent results and the remainder of the results had slight improvements. There were no negative responses. 
This demonstrates that the use of Aromatherapy via inhalation is an effective method to cope with anxiety, stress, depression and emotional upset. This survey does not demonstrate if it is a specific physiological, psychological, or placebo responses.  However, reflects that aromatherapists are achieving good -to - excellent improvements in helping individuals cope with stress, anxiety, depression and other emotional issues with Aromatherapy Via Inhalation.

The survey also asked to indicate the top choices of essential oils used when treating stress,  anxiety, depression and emotional upset.  The answers resulted in the following essential oils.

 

Conclusion: This survey suggests that the initial response to smelling essential oils had a personal positive effect, good feelings and a sense of wonder.  Therefore, many individuals perused furthering their education in Aromatherapy and become practitioners in the field of Aromatherapy.  And finally, the survey gave good indication that professional Aromatherapist are achieving good to excellent results in supporting individuals coping with stress, anxiety, depression and emotional upsets.  Pre and post Corona-ism era pose a threat to the future of mental health in all age groups, furthering our investigation on the positive effects of essential may provide another supplemental tool to cope with stress, anxiety, depression and emotional upset.
Methods and Materials: The survey questions were through snowball outreach to professional aromatherapists via social media.
Limitations of this survey questions: The questions were extracted from a study was performed as an online survey therefore results may be limited.   The survey may not represent accurate results due to the, lack of botanical names of suggested essential oils and recommended duration of use of specific essential oils.
